High above the historic French village of Akaroa, Caldera’s beautifully appointed Cellar Door will be an elegant statement in contemporary architecture and a celebration of our stunning surroundings.

Like Caldera’s five-star luxury accommodation, our Cellar Door experience – including enjoyment of outstanding wines, delectable world-class cuisine and everything else that will take your breath away – is due to open 2024/2025.

Cellar Door

You can look forward to tasteful, understated design with both indoor and outdoor seating. Our premium restaurant will specialise in local fare and a private dining room will cater for groups. We will also have a VIP wine tasting room, and of course, the chance to purchase all the delectable wine your heart desires.

Full glass frontage will allow sweeping views of the sparkling harbour and an open fireplace will wrap cooler days in a warm cloak of welcome. As well as vineyard tours and walking tracks to explore, courtesy transport to Akaroa will be available. You’ll be able to enjoy your time with us and leave your cares and cars behind.

Purchasing Wines

Start planning your home wine cellar. Caldera’s irresistible range will be available for purchase from the Cellar Door as well as online, as they are already. Whether you buy by the bottle or by the case, you’ll be able to take your wines with you, or choose to have them shipped.
